Job summary

The Blue Coat School Oldham is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Team member on a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The role focuses on promoting wellbeing and attendance, liaising with parents, staff and students, and delivering high-quality pastoral care within an experienced team.

You will work closely with Directors of Learning and the Senior Leadership Team, handling confidential information with integrity and building positive relationships with young people and adults alike.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people
• Experience of administration in an office environment
• Empathy, understanding and respect for young people
• Professional resilience and integrity with handling confidential information
• Approachable and able to inspire respect and confidence
• Ability to work under pressure with strong organisational skills, self-motivation and planning/prioritising workload

Responsibilities

• Promote efficient and effective communication between parents, staff and students
• Deliver high-quality pastoral care as part of a team
• Support attendance improvement and student wellbeing
• Work with Directors of Learning and SLT to support pastoral concerns
• Build positive relationships with students and adults in an appropriate manner
