Job summary

Crawshaw Academy is seeking an Attendance Support Officer to monitor pupil attendance, support families, and work with staff to remove barriers to learning. This role helps safeguard students and coordinates early interventions within a supportive pastoral team.

The post requires a compassionate, well-organised individual with strong communication skills and the ability to analyse attendance data to identify trends and actions. Term-time working is included, with training days to be arranged.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people and families in education or pastoral settings.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyse attendance data and identify trends for intervention.
• Resilience, professionalism and sound judgement with sensitive situations.
• Committed to supporting students to overcome attendance barriers.
• Understands safeguarding and child protection in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor attendance records and identify concerns early.
• Coordinate interventions with families, staff and external agencies.
• Support statutory attendance requirements and wellbeing/safeguarding.
• Contribute to a culture where attendance and wellbeing are everyone's responsibility.
