Job summary

St Francis invites applications for a Student Support Assistant to work with our teaching team and SEND Co-ordinator. You will help manage dynamic classrooms, promote inclusion, and empower students to build independence, confidence, and social skills.

The role supports curriculum delivery across literacy, numeracy, and ICT, maintains a safe and nurturing environment, and contributes to our positive ethos. Training and development are available within our supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in classroom settings.
• Ability to promote inclusion and adapt to individual needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare policies.
• Good communication and teamwork with teachers and SEND coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students, ensuring safety and access to learning.
• Build positive relationships with students and act as role model.
• Promote inclusion and assist with activities run by the teacher.
• Support students with literacy, numeracy, and ICT as directed by staff.
• Help with lunchtime and after-school sessions as needed.
• Attend relevant meetings and support visiting staff and trips.
