Job summary

St Mary's C of E Primary School in Godalming is seeking a dedicated SEND support assistant to work with class teachers and the SENDCo. You will help pupils access learning in the classroom, build confidence and foster positive relationships, ensuring individual needs are met in line with EHCP outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is an advantage.
• Minimum English and Maths GCSE required.
• Able to work with teachers to implement EHCP outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support children to regulate emotions and behaviour using agreed strategies.
• Provide sensory breaks, movement breaks and time-out opportunities when needed.
• Adapt activities and resources to enable SEND pupils to access the curriculum.
• Encourage inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.
• Work under the direction of the SENDCo and class teacher to ensure required support is provided.
• Support pupils across the school when required.
