Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council invites applications for a role to assist teachers across a range of pupils from P1 to S6, promoting achievement and supporting health, wellbeing and safety. The post requires flexibility in school location within the Portlethen CSN cluster and is initially based at the advertised site.

The successful candidate will join a PVG-regulated post, undergo necessary pre-employment checks including an overseas criminal record check if applicable, and provide at least one reference

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
• Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
• A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
• This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in promoting achievement and raising standards of pupil attainment.
• Provide general support in relation to the needs of the class and individuals’ care, health and wellbeing and safety.
• Be flexible in school location within the cluster, working with a range of pupils from P1 – S6.
• Demonstrate commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
• Initially you will be based in the location advertised, but you may be required to work elsewhere within Portlethen CSN.
• Must be able to work Wednesday and Friday.
