Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant to support pupils from P1 to S6. The role focuses on a positive, encouraging approach and helping children thrive, with flexibility in school location within the cluster.

The post requires PVG scheme checks and references; initial placement is at the advertised location with possible relocation within the Stonehaven CSN. Working pattern is 3 mornings per week, 9.00–13.40, days negotiable.

• A PVG Scheme check or update is required.
• If you have spent a continuous period outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required.

There is a requirement to be flexible in school location within the cluster, according to individual circumstances and work with a range of pupils from P1 – S6.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Initially you will be based in the location advertised, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Stonehaven CSN.

Working Pattern - 3 mornings a week 9.00 - 13.40, days of week negotiable.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
