The University of Manchester is seeking a Student Support and Development Officer to oversee the Student Support and Wellbeing Team within the School of Social Sciences. The role involves managing support services, collaborating with stakeholders, and enhancing student experiences through effective leadership and communication. We are seeking to appoint a Student Support and Development Officer in the School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities.
The Student Support and Wellbeing team is responsible for providing welfare and pastoral support, delivering mitigating circumstances, monitoring attendance and engagement, among other responsibilities within the school. The post holder will primarily oversee the Student Support and Wellbeing Team and related processes within the School of Social Sciences.
You should have strong experience in supporting welfare and a proven track record of delivering excellent student or customer experiences. Demonstrable experience in improving and developing services, ideally in a student-focused context, is essential. Excellent communication skills, leadership, and influencing abilities are required. You must also understand academic and pastoral support procedures related to postgraduate taught and undergraduate education, with significant experience in pastoral support.
