The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London, one of the oldest and most renowned law schools globally, is seeking dedicated Student Support Advisors to enhance student welfare and support services.

About Us
The school is situated in Somerset House on the Strand, close to the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court, fostering strong links with the legal profession and policymakers.

About The Role
The advisors will support undergraduate students' welfare, wellbeing, and academic progress, working closely with academic tutors and other university teams. Candidates should have experience in student-facing roles, be highly organized, and capable of handling complex situations with sensitivity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing pastoral and welfare support to students.
  • Developing and implementing support processes and services.
  • Signposting students to appropriate wellbeing and counselling services.
  • Responding effectively to sensitive situations and managing complex cases.
  • Fostering inclusive support environments respecting diversity.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting students in higher education.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing protocols.
  • Ability to respond professionally in urgent or sensitive situations.
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable skills include knowledge of evaluation methods and mental health first aid certification.

Additional Information

Salary ranges from £44,355 to £52,735 per annum, including London Weighting. The closing date for applications is 13-May-2025. Interviews will be scheduled w/c TBC.
