Job summary

Twynham School in Christchurch seeks a Student Services Support Worker to help young people with mental health and wellbeing. The role focuses on supporting learners with varied needs and requires a caring, energetic approach within a collaborative team.

You will liaise with external agencies, promote safeguarding, and work across the school to improve wellbeing and inclusivity for all students.

Qualifications

  • Five GCSEs at A-C, including Maths and English.
  • Ability to relate to children in and out of the classroom.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic, with a team mindset.
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Willing to undertake first aid training if not already certified.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and learning of children with diverse needs.
  • Promote emotional literacy and mental wellbeing outside the classroom.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure appropriate support for children.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people per policies.

Salary range (per annum) £26,824 to £29,540 (FTE)

£23,074 to £25,410 pro rata

About The Post

We are delighted to be recruiting for an enthusiastic Student Services Support worker to join our team at Twynham School. This role is focused on supporting young people with their mental health and welling. This is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic team of people.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Support and promote the development and learning of the children with a variety of academic, physical, emotional, behavioural and social needs
  • Work with children outside of the classroom to boost their emotional literacy and mental health.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure the right support for the children.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

Twynham School is an 11-19 comprehensive school serving families throughout Christchurch. We have a diverse range of learners and we are recognised for our inclusivity and community approach.
