Job summary

Twynham School in Christchurch seeks an enthusiastic Science Technician to support teaching staff, prepare resources and maintain labs. The role offers permanent terms and can be full time or part time, with a fixed annual salary in the £25k range.

You will work under the Head of Science to ensure safe, well-prepared lessons and high-quality resources, contributing to an inclusive and proactive school culture.

Qualifications

  • Technician with higher level qualifications or substantial experience in science education.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with students and staff.
  • Motivation to work in an educational setting with energy and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support science teaching staff by preparing resources, apparatus and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain classrooms, laboratories and workshops, carrying out repairs as needed.
  • Ensure health and safety is prioritised in all activities.

About The Post

We are looking for someone to provide specialist technical support to our science teaching staff. You will use your specialist technical knowledge to help ensure that our students experience excellent Science lessons which are well prepared, fully resourced and safe.

We Are Looking For An Outstanding Individual Who Will
  • contribute to lessons by demonstrating, supervising and advising students
  • prepare and assemble science teaching resources, apparatus and equipment – designing developing and maintaining these as required
  • prepare and maintain classrooms, laboratories and workshops and undertake reasonable repairs
  • ensure that health and safety is a top priority
  • passionately believe in the power of education to change lives
  • promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies
