Job summary

Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute Ltd invites applications for a Student Experience Manager and SENCO based in Nottingham. This office-based role is 5 days a week, with weekend work as required, reporting to the Director of Training to strengthen our inclusive learning community.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for student experience, inclusion, accessibility and student support.
• Lead for students with SEND, ensuring adjustments identified, implemented, communicated and reviewed effectively.
• Lead across the whole student journey to create an inclusive learning environment and maintain boundaries between educational support, pastoral support and psychotherapy.
• Identify barriers to student engagement and progression and develop institutional responses with Programme leaders and professional services.
• Support equality of opportunity, alignment with regulatory expectations and institutional values.
• Oversee placement progression and gather student feedback to foster inclusion.

Responsible for Student Support function; Placement Coordinator/Graduate Officer; and other student experience roles as designated

Works closely with Programme Leaders, Quality and Compliance Manager, Business Operations Manager, Admissions Officer, academic administration, teaching staff and external support/services

SPTI is seeking a thoughtful, organised and values-led Student Experience Manager and SENCO to play a central role in supporting our students and strengthening our inclusive learning community. This is a key leadership role for someone who is passionate about accessible education, student belonging and high-quality support across the whole student journey.

About the Role

The Student Experience Manager and SENCO will provide strategic and operational leadership for student experience, inclusion, accessibility and student support across SPTI.

The postholder will act as SPTI’s lead for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that students are appropriately supported to access and participate in their education and that reasonable adjustments are identified, implemented, communicated and reviewed effectively.

The role will provide leadership across the whole student journey, helping to create an inclusive, relational and psychologically informed learning environment while maintaining appropriate boundaries between educational support, pastoral support and psychotherapy.

As a member of the Institute’s leadership structure, the Student experience manager and SENCO will work collaboratively with Programme leaders and professional services to identify barriers to student engagement, continuation, achievement and progression and to develop institutional responses.
