Job summary

The Leigh Academy is seeking a passionate Student Services Manager to support the social and emotional wellbeing of students at our Maidstone campus. You will play a key role in pastoral care, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment where every student can thrive and feel valued.

Working with the Senior Leadership Team, Head of Therapy, teachers and other professionals, you will help develop and deliver intervention programmes such as social skills, resilience, and anger management sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral care or safeguarding within an educational setting.
• Strong communication and listening skills with students, families and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively with SLT, teachers and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the social and emotional wellbeing of students.
• Contribute to development and delivery of intervention programmes (social skills, resilience, friendship, bereavement, anger management).
• Build positive relationships with students and provide a safe, inclusive environment.
• Coordinate with senior leaders and pastoral teams to monitor progress and wellbeing.

As a key member of our non-teaching team, you will support all aspects of pastoral care, helping to create a caring, secure and inclusive environment where every student is valued and able to thrive. You will build positive and trusting relationships with students, providing a safe space for them to talk, express themselves and access the support they need.

As the Student Services Manager, you will play a key role in establishing supportive relationships with students, offering a safe space for them to talk and express themselves. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Head of Therapy, class teachers, and other professionals, you will contribute to the development and delivery of vital intervention programmes. These may include social skills, emotional resilience, friendship building, bereavement support, and anger management sessions.
