Job summary

Bradford College is hiring a Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer to support students with safeguarding, mental health and personal welfare needs. The role involves early help, liaison with staff, and developing resources for student welfare.

It is a term-time position, 37 hours per week across 40 weeks per year, with some flexibility for weekend/evening work. The ideal candidate will have safeguarding or mental health qualifications at Level 2+ and GCSEs in Maths and English, along with experience

Qualifications

• Safeguarding and mental health qualifications at Level 2 or higher.
• GCSE Maths at level 2 or equivalent, to pass the required test.
• GCSE English at level 2 or equivalent, to demonstrate ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first point of contact for safeguarding and wellbeing concerns.
• Liaise with curriculum and support staff to secure positive outcomes.
• Signpost and refer students to internal and external sources of support.
• Contribute to resources supporting students' personal and social welfare.
• Work flexibly including weekend/evening as required and participate in meetings.
• Engage with service evaluation and quality improvement activities.
• Support vulnerable students and make appropriate statutory referrals.
• Develop risk assessments and safety plans for ongoing risk cases.
