eTeach UK Limited is recruiting for a Safeguarding and Welfare Advisor (Term Time Only, 15hpw) in Tees Valley. The role focuses on frontline student support and safeguarding while coordinating with college staff and external agencies to ensure timely, confidential safeguarding actions and mentoring support.

Responsibilities

• Support safeguarding function of the college by dealing with incidents and liaising with parents and carers.
• Liaise with internal and external agencies, local authorities, employers, students, staff to ensure effective communication and information sharing.
• Maintain student support records plus safeguarding records, keeping details confidential.
• Responsible for a caseload of students at risk of not completing or achieving their learning aims through targeted support.
• Assess and prioritize referrals according to need.
• Help students identify personal, community, family and college-based issues impacting learning.
• Develop and manage mentoring relationships to address identified needs.
• Provide immediate and first-line support to students in crisis, referring to internal staff and external agencies as appropriate.
• Support students individually or in groups in their social and emotional development.
• Support students through personal difficulties to support learning outside of teaching time.
• Support the tutorial process by helping students meet deadlines and targets with tutors and curriculum staff.
• Follow up on attendance and punctuality issues and provide support to return to college.
• Coordinate with internal staff and external agencies for students with pastoral, health and other support needs.
• Assist with admissions, transition, enrolment and induction and attend open events as necessary.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and team meetings.
• Ensure all students have access to appropriate support regardless of needs or circumstances.
• Comply with college policies and quality assurance systems and undertake other duties as assigned by the line manager.
• Maintain a professional approach in all interactions with staff and students.
