Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Newport to recruit a Student Progress Coach for the next academic year. The role focuses on mentoring and supporting pupils aged 11-16, helping them engage, build confidence, and access lessons.

You don't necessarily need prior school experience; backgrounds in youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, or psychology are welcome. DBS and EWC checks are required; travel across Newport and South Wales may be involved.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• EWC registration or willingness to register.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with confidence in the classroom.
• Assist students with additional learning needs access content.
• Encourage engagement and participation during lessons.
• Work with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Support small group intervention sessions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils as a role model.

Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming secondary school in Newport that is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11-16 throughout the next academic year.
