Job summary

West Suffolk College is seeking a positive and proactive Work Placement Officer to coordinate industry placements for students within the Academy of Hair & Beauty Studies. Based in Bury St Edmunds, you will build strong employer relationships and source meaningful placement opportunities.

You will liaise with curriculum teams, deliver preparation activities, assess placements, and ensure compliance with policies while supporting student success across the Eastern Education Group.

Qualifications

• A good general standard of education.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Organise and coordinate an agreed caseload of students to source, plan, monitor and evaluate placements.
• Liaise with curriculum staff to forward plan work placements.
• Deliver learning activities to prepare students for industry placements.
• Match students with employers using interviews and assessments.
• Monitor student progress and formally assess placements.
• Attend events related to the role and collaborate with teams to build employer relationships.
• Act as a conduit between employers and college to share leads and requirements.
