Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking passionate Student Nurses to support children and young people with SEND in Birmingham schools. You will gain experience in a specialist educational setting, helping with daily care and health needs while making a positive impact on pupils’ wellbeing.

Ideal candidates are near completing their nursing degree and possess strong communication and teamwork skills, with a calm, proactive approach. DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, residential or support settings.
• Student Nurses nearing completion of their nursing degree are encouraged.
• Willingness to support personal care as needed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• A passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day support to pupils.
• Supporting children with complex and additional healthcare needs.
• Monitoring pupils' health and wellbeing and recognising changes in their condition.
• Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents/carers and other healthcare professionals.
• Promoting dignity, independence, inclusion and positive wellbeing.
• Providing reassurance and compassionate support to pupils throughout the school day
