Job summary

Gloucestershire College is seeking a Student Mentor to support learners in the Student Support Team. You will help students stay motivated, build skills, and plan progression into further study, training, or employment.

The role involves working with learners individually and in groups, addressing welfare or safeguarding concerns, and coordinating with Student Officers and external agencies. You will help learners reflect on their development, set goals, and prepare for their future destinations

Qualifications

• Significant experience of working with young people in further education.
• Experience coaching or mentoring.
• Experience facilitating group sessions.
• Maths and English at level 2 (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Support learners to stay motivated, improve achievement and progress with confidence.
• Deliver sessions individually and in groups to address barriers and develop skills.
• Collaborate with Student Officers, parents and external agencies on welfare and safeguarding concerns.
• Monitor progress and support progression using planned interventions and learning plans.
