Job summary

Humberston Academy in Grimsby seeks a motivated pastoral team member to support students and families, contributing to a positive school culture. The role emphasizes safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional integrity within a collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will join a trusted Pastoral Department recognised for outstanding Ofsted outcomes, and will participate in a wide range of student welfare and enrichment activities throughout the year.

Our pastoral department is one of the key elements that enables our students to have a well-rounded approach and positive attitude to prepare them for the world of work.

The successful applicant will be part of a team that offers pastoral support and always approaches any task with a positive and hardworking ethos. Our pastoral team go above and beyond to support students’ learning. This has led to Humberston Academy achieving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement (2024) for Personal Development.

Therefore, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to become part of this integral team at Humberston.

About our Academy

Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed ‘outstanding’ academy located in an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. With Ofsted recognising the outstanding practice in place for Behaviour and Attitudes, Safeguarding and Personal Development, our students are in safe hands with regards to expert support. Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019 and re-accredited in 2022. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.

Humberston Academy has also been appointed as the Teaching School Hub for the local region which will allow all colleagues to access leading edge career professional development in order to enhance the standard of teaching as well as the opportunity to deliver CPD to colleagues locally in our profession.

Salary & Benefits

Salary £33,119 FTE NJC 19 (£29,091.02pa pro rata)

Permanent role 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
