Job summary

Charles Read Academy in Grantham is seeking a Pastoral Manager to support pupils and uphold positive behaviour pathways. You will join a family team to monitor behaviour, intervene when needed and collaborate with staff, parents and external partners.

The role focuses on inclusion, student well-being and development, with CPD opportunities and a supportive environment that values staff wellbeing and work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with young people aged 11-19 in a secondary school.
  • Willingness to undertake further work related training.
  • Able to use ICT including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of strategies to overcome barriers to learning, and poor behaviour, and willingness to work with a team who leads behaviour modifications.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Good organisation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to undertake first aid training.
  • Commitment to inclusion.
  • Help foster a culture of high expectations.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and vision.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Model professional standards across all areas of work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering the academy behaviour policy.
  • Monitor student behaviour and intervene when appropriate.
  • Work with other agencies supporting individual students.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of students.
  • Motivate students and reinforce self-esteem.
  • Participate in induction of students at the start of the year and in year as necessary
  • Participate in producing an action plan/safety plan/well-being plan with students, parents and teachers.
  • Respond to staff requests for behavioural support in lessons advising on strategies, providing in class observation, removing student and supervising as necessary.

  • Payscale: NJC15 £30,024pa FTE. Actual salary £16037pa based on working 22.5 hours, 39 weeks term time. Monday to Wednesday contract.

To assist in delivering the academy behaviour policy.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have experience of working with young people aged 11-19 in a secondary school
