Job summary

Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Student Engagement Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, encourage active participation in lessons, and help pupils build confidence and resilience while working alongside teachers and pastoral staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Positive, energetic and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS on Update Service if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range.
• Encourage positive engagement in lessons and school activities.
• Support pupils to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
• Help children overcome barriers to learning and participation.
• Promote positive behaviour and strong classroom relationships.
• Support pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maximise pupil progress.

Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Student Engagement Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside.

As a Student Engagement Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping children actively participate in their learning, build positive relationships, and develop the confidence needed to succeed in school. You will work closely with pupils who may require additional support with engagement, motivation, attendance, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and have experience in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, childcare, care, sports, or support work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range
• Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and school activities
• Supporting pupils to build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
• Helping children overcome barriers to learning and participation
• Promoting positive behaviour and strong classroom relationships
• Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
