Job summary

Sunderland & South Tyneside-based role with Milk Education seeks School Thrive Mentors to help primary pupils engage with learning and build confidence. You’ll provide 1:1 and small group support across schools, aiding academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and positive attitudes toward learning.

The role suits individuals with experience in education, youth work, coaching, childcare, or mentoring, and offers full-time and part-time opportunities in a flexible, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Caring, patient, and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for helping children thrive academically and personally.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range
• Supporting children's academic progress, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting children with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
• Helping pupils develop resilience, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning

Milk Education is looking for passionate and dedicated School Thrive Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside.

As a School Thrive Mentor, you'll work closely with children who may need additional support to engage with learning, build confidence, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential. You'll play a vital role in creating an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

This role is perfect for individuals with experience in education, youth work, coaching, childcare, mentoring, support work, or anyone with a genuine passion for helping young people flourish.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range


• Supporting children's academic progress, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
