Job summary

Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Student Engagement Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside. You will help children participate in learning, build confidence, and develop resilience.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, promoting engagement, and working with teachers to maximise pupil progress. DBS on Update Service is preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Positive, energetic and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
• Genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range.
• Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and school activities.
• Supporting pupils to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
• Helping children overcome barriers to learning and participation.
• Promoting positive behaviour and strong classroom relationships.
• Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maximise pupil progress.

Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Student Engagement Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside.

As a Student Engagement Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping children actively participate in their learning, build positive relationships, and develop the confidence needed to succeed in school. You will work closely with pupils who may require additional support with engagement, motivation, attendance, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and have experience in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, childcare, care, sports, or support work.
