Job summary

Milk Education is seeking compassionate SEMH Support Mentors to work in Primary Schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build emotional regulation.

As a mentor, you will be a trusted adult, providing tailored support 1:1 and in small groups, collaborating with teachers and pastoral teams to promote wellbeing and progress. An Enhanced DBS is required or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, behavioural, or additional support needs.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

Milk Education is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Support Mentors to work within Primary Schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning, regulate emotions, build positive relationships, and achieve success both academically and personally.

As an SEMH Support Mentor, you will be a trusted adult and positive role model, providing tailored support to help children feel safe, engaged, and confident within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
