Job summary

North Star Community Trust invites applications for an Education Welfare Officer to work across our academies to improve attendance and support families. You will help children overcome barriers to regular attendance and work with school leaders, parents and external agencies to identify concerns and implement supportive pathways.

You will carry out home visits, coordinate safeguarding with authorities, and manage a busy caseload.

Qualifications

• Experience in school attendance or education welfare.
• Ability to manage complex cases and work with families.
• Understanding of safeguarding, attendance guidance, and persistent absence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve school attendance across North Star Community Trust academies.
• Support families and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance.
