XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, is seeking a Structures Inspector for Outer London. You will ensure infrastructure is safe and fit for purpose, delivering inspections and surveys across highways projects.

Role requires inspection expertise, ability to travel nationwide, and a valid UK driving licence. You will join a team delivering high-quality risk management services to asset owners.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with DMRB and Bridge Inspection standards.
• Full UK Driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine structures across the UK.
• Lead the delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys.
• Plan pre-site activities including liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of safe systems of work.
• Prepare inspection reports, including CAD drawings.
• Work as part of a growing infrastructure projects team.

XEIAD is a specialist engineering inspection consultancy delivering high-quality inspections and assessments on critical infrastructure assets. Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges, tunnels and culverts, providing reliable insight to help asset owners manage risk and maintain safety.

What will you be doing?

As a Structures Inspector for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you will ensure our clients infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets across the highways sector.

You will also:

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Supporting pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
• Work as part of a growing infrastructure projects team

To join our team, you will need:

• Experience in a Structures Inspection role
• Knowledge/awareness of industry standards under the Design Manual for Road and Bridges (DMRB).
• Familiarity with CS450 and the Inspection Manual for Highways Structures
• Awareness of the Senior or Inspector level qualification under the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS)
• Be prepared to travel and work nationwide
• The ability to work at height and within confined spaces
• Full UK Driving license
