Job summary

British Engineering Services Group are seeking a Structures Examiner in Guildford to inspect and survey a range of rail infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance. You will lead inspection projects, produce CAD drawings and reports, and work with a growing team across the UK.

The role requires rail inspection knowledge, STE4 competency (or progress toward), full UK driving license, and willingness to travel nationwide. IRATA rope access is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Structures Examiner role.
• Knowledge of Rail Inspection Regulations.
• Fully competent to STE4 level (or working towards).
• Willingness to travel nationwide.
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces.
• Full UK Driving license.
• IRATA qualification (Rope Access) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys.
• Assist pre-site planning, liaise with landowners/contractors, review safe systems of work.
• Prepare inspection reports and CAD drawings.

Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges,tunnelsand culverts,providingreliable insight to help asset owners manage risk andmaintainsafety.

What will you be doing?

As a Structures Examiner for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you ensure our clients infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets across the rail sector.

You will:

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Supporting pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
• Work as part of a growing team on railway infrastructure
