Job summary

XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, is seeking a Structures Examiner to inspect and survey infrastructure across the rail sector. You will perform structural inspections and investigations, produce CAD drawings, and contribute to reports as part of a growing national team.

The role requires STE4 level competence (or progress toward it), full UK driving licence, willingness to travel nationwide, and ability to work at height and in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Structures Examiner role
• Knowledge of Rail Inspection Regulations
• Fully competent to STE4 level (or working towards)
• Be prepared to travel and work nationwide
• The ability to work at height and within confined spaces
• Full UK Driving license
• Ideally, an IRATA qualification (up to Rope Access Supervisor L3)

Responsibilities

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Support pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
• Work as part of a growing team on railway infrastructure

What will you be doing?

As a Structures Examiner for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you ensure our clients' infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets across the rail sector.

You Will

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Support pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work

• Work as part of a growing team on railway infrastructure
