Job summary

British Engineering Services Group is seeking a Structures Examiner in Guildford to inspect and assess civil infrastructure across the rail sector. You'll lead inspections, surveys, and investigations, using specialist access methods and producing reports with CAD drawings.

As part of a growing team, you will travel nationwide, work at height, and embrace safety standards while supporting pre-site planning and collaboration with landowners and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Structures Examiner role.
• Knowledge of Rail Inspection Regulations.
• Fully competent to STE4 level (or working towards).
• Be prepared to travel and work nationwide.
• The ability to work at height and within confined spaces.
• Full UK Driving license.
• Ideally, an IRATA qualification (up to Rope Access Supervisor L3).

Responsibilities

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Supporting pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
• Work as part of a growing team on railway infrastructure

Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges,tunnelsand culverts,providingreliable insight to help asset owners manage risk andmaintainsafety.

What will you be doing?

As a Structures Examiner for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you ensure our clients infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets across the rail sector.

You will:

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Supporting pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
• Work as part of a growing team on railway infrastructure
