Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking an Engineer (Structures) to deliver the Structures capital programme, including bridge maintenance, strengthening and improvement works across Perth and Kinross. The role involves planning, designing, procuring and delivering structures projects from inception to completion, with site visits and coordination of technical staff.

The post holder will work within statutory, governance and corporate frameworks, supported by a Senior Engineer (Structures).

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with civil/structural knowledge.
• Professional capability in bridges and highway structures.
• Ability to apply sound engineering judgement in design and delivery of structures projects.
• Ability to work within statutory governance and health and safety frameworks.
• Ability to supervise technical staff as part of a wider team.
• You must have a valid UK driving licence for travel across Perth and Kinross.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, procure and deliver structures projects from inception to completion.
• Support delivery of the Structures capital programme within corporate frameworks.
• Supervise and coordinate technical staff, including technicians as allocated.
• Conduct regular site visits across the council area and report progress.
