Structured Cabling Design Engineer

Location: Bracknell (Hybrid: Mon–Fri with travel to client sites)

Type: Full-Time

Our client, a leading data centre services provider specialising in IT relocation, structured cabling, hardware installation, and asset disposal, is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery of data centre migration and structured cabling projects.

You’ll manage projects from design to delivery, including scoping, costing, and issuing proposals. Responsibilities include leading engineering teams, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring installations meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data centre migration and cabling projects from planning to completion
• Conduct site surveys and define customer requirements
• Design and estimate structured cabling solutions
• Oversee internal and external engineering resources
• Manage supplier relationships and procurement
• Ensure quality control of cabling installations to industry/manufacturer standards
• Develop patching schedules, connectivity schematics, and design packages
• Maintain internal project updates and delivery plans
• Clear, concise progression plan

Experience & Skills

• 3+ years in structured cabling design/installation
• Expertise in copper and fibre (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, OM3/OM4, OS2)
• Strong knowledge of installation/testing standards for data centres
• Proficient in MS Office and Visio
• SC clearance and data centre migration experience highly beneficial
• Motivated, organised, and thrives under pressure
• Strong team player with excellent customer-facing skills
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and process-focused
