Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Estimator for Structural Steel in Barnsley to join a well-established team. The role focuses on converting enquiries into commercially viable, accurate estimates, working across drawings, specifications and client briefs to drive winning bids.

You will sit at the front end of the project lifecycle, coordinating with internal departments and clients to ensure opportunities are properly assessed and priced.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an estimating environment.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and make sound commercial decisions.
• Strong commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assess incoming enquiries and identify commercially viable schemes.
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates from drawings and technical specifications.
• Manage the tender process, coordinating with clients and departments across the business.
• Build existing client relationships while helping identify new business opportunities.
• Balance competing enquiries and deadlines while maintaining accuracy throughout the estimating process.
