Job summary

McGinley Support Services Infrastructure Ltd seeks an experienced Structural Engineering Lead to head a specialist structural engineering and testing team within a unique laboratory and research environment in Watford.

This role combines technical leadership, structural testing, client engagement and business development, offering a non-traditional alternative to consultancy while contributing to opportunities across the sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Chartered (CEng) or IEng, or working toward registration.
• Experience leading engineering teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians and laboratory staff.
• Oversee structural testing, assessment and consultancy projects.
• Provide technical leadership on complex engineering challenges.
• Manage laboratory facilities, resources and testing programmes.
• Develop relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
• Support business development and identify new opportunities.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals and assessments.
• Represent the business at meetings, industry events and conferences.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
