  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IStructE or ICE.
  • Typically 10-15+ years of structural engineering experience within a UK consultancy.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary structural projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, Building Regulations, and CDM Regulations.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience with high‑rise developments and complex building structures.
  • Experience working on refurbishment and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Existing network of clients and industry contacts in London and the UK.
  • Experience with sustainable design and low‑carbon structural solutions.
  • Ability to win new work and contribute to business development strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.
  • Manage project teams, ensuring technical excellence, programme delivery, and commercial performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractor.
  • Mentor and approve structural calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes, British Standards, and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams throughout project delivery.
  • Identify and manage project risks, resources, and budgets.
  • Support business development by preparing fee proposals, attending client meetings, and securing new work.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and continuous improvement of the structural engineering team.
  • Promote innovation, sustainability, and best engineering practice.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our London office. The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering structural engineering projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, or infrastructure, with a strong understanding of UK design standards and construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams, ensuring technical excellence, programme delivery, and commercial performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractor.
