Job summary

Procter Street is seeking a hands-on Structural Engineer to deliver high-quality engineering services and build strong client relationships in a growing consultancy based in Manchester.

You will manage projects end-to-end, undertake site inspections, produce reports, and develop structural designs and solutions across commercial, industrial, residential and retail sectors. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to advance technical and commercial skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Chartered status or working towards chartered status is advantageous.
• Experience in structural engineering within a consultancy environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of design, assessment and investigation for various building types.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied workload from brief to completion.
• Carry out site inspections and structural investigations.
• Prepare clear structural reports, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Develop structural designs and engineering solutions per project brief.
• Perform structural calculations and assessments.
• Assist with specifications, scopes of work and tender docs.
• Provide practical engineering advice to clients and stakeholders.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and other consultants for coordinated delivery.
• Attend meetings and communicate technical input clearly.
• Support project delivery within timescales and budgets.
