Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design across a variety of building projects.
• Design structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Prepare structural calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Work closely with architects, contractors and other design professionals.
• Manage projects through the design and construction stages.
• Attend site visits, surveys and project meetings.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Contribute to delivery of practical, efficient engineering solutions.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Structural Engineer to join a progressive and design-focused structural engineering consultancy based in Oxfordshire. The consultancy works on a diverse range of projects, including bespoke residential properties, new-build developments, extensions, conversions and multi-unit residential schemes. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work closely with architects and clients, and play a key role in delivering creative structural solutions from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design across a variety of building projects.
• Design structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Prepare structural calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Work closely with architects, contractors and other design professionals.
• Manage projects through the design and construction stages.
• Attend site visits, surveys and project meetings.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Contribute to the delivery of practical, efficient and commercially considered engineering solutions.

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience working within a UK structural engineering consultancy.
• Strong understanding of building structures and construction methods.
• Experience designing in a range of structural materials.
• Familiarity with structural design software such as Tekla Tedds, TEDDS, MasterSeries or similar.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant design codes.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small team.
• Working towards chartership with the IStructE or ICE would be advantageous.
