Job summary

Swan Structures is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer with 3+ years of post-graduate experience to join our growing consultancy in Marshfield. Work spans residential, commercial, industrial and refurbishment projects across the UK, from concept to detailed design and construction.

You will collaborate with clients, architects and contractors, carrying out design, reports, site visits, and project delivery within budget and programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of post-graduate structural engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UK design standards (Eurocodes) and Building Regulations.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (Tekla, MasterSeries, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Full UK driving licence is preferred.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).
• Experience carrying out structural surveys and preparing reports.
• Knowledge of temporary works design and project budgeting targets.

• Design in steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Structural Engineer with minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience to join our growing engineering consultancy. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and refurbishment projects across the UK.

You will be involved in projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce structural designs and calculations for a variety of building projects.
• Design in steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and structural assessments.
• Carry out site inspections and structural surveys.
• Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities.

Requirements

• Experience with using Autocad and Revit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Clean and full UK driving licence.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).
• Experience carrying out structural surveys and preparing reports.
• Knowledge of temporary works design.
• Keen grasp on project and business financial targets.
