Role: Senior Structural Engineer

Our client is an owner-managed engineering consultancy located in Bristol. They are a small, yet growing team of around 15 people, specialising in a wide range of civil and structural engineering projects, including public realm schemes, new highways and junction upgrades, active travel schemes, residential developments, high-tech industrial and distribution developments, schools, and commercial units.
About the role
They are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with proven experience delivering projects within the UK. The successful candidate will lead on a range of schemes, managing design delivery, client liaison and project coordination from inception through to completion. You will take ownership of projects, support and mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
About you
- Degree in Structural engineering (MEng or BEng)
- 5+ years of experience working as a Structural Engineer in the UK
- Ideally chartered with the IStructE or working towards it.
- Driving license preferable
- AutoCAD literate (Revit experience beneficial but not essential)
- Strong capability in 3D structural analysis and design software (ideally Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS).
- Experience undertaking structural inspections and preparing technical reports.
- A broad knowledge of structural design across common construction materials.
The Role
- Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects of varying scales, from feasibility through to construction.
- Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact on allocated projects.
- Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior engineers and technicians.
- Prepare and check structural calculations, design packages and specifications.
- Coordinate design input across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Attend and lead site visits, design meetings and project reviews.
- Contribute to technical discussions within the office, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.
- Support Directors and Associates in developing new business opportunities and maintaining high professional standards.
Location & commitments
- Work will be based at the Bristol office.
- 37.5 hours per week.
