Job summary

DONOVAN MARRISON LTD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its London-based office to lead offshore structural analyses and designs across FPSOs, mooring, topsides, and renewables projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering from concept through to delivery, with a strong emphasis on innovation and safety.

• Around 5–10 years' postgraduate offshore structural engineering experience (essential).
• Degree in Structural, Civil or Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as ANSYS and/or STAAD Pro.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA/FEM).
• Understanding of offshore design principles and environmental/hydrodynamic loading.
• Familiarity with offshore design codes such as DNV, API, ABS or Eurocodes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork abilities.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural analysis and design of offshore structures, including FPSOs, topsides and mooring systems.
• Produce finite element models using ANSYS and STAAD Pro.
• Perform lifting analyses and assess structural integrity under operational and environmental loading.
• Design and assess offshore wind and renewable energy structures.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards (DNV, API, ABS, Eurocodes).
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with naval architects, mechanical engineers and drafting teams throughout project delivery.
• Attend client meetings and provide technical engineering support as required.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer on behalf of our client, a specialist engineering consultancy delivering innovative structural engineering solutions across the offshore energy sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their London-based office, in a permanent staff role.

We are looking for someone with around 5-10 years post graduate structural engineering experience within the offshore oil & gas or renewable energy sectors.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis and design of offshore structures, undertaking detailed engineering calculations and finite element analysis to support projects from concept through to delivery.
