Job summary

A leading renewable engineering company is seeking a Lead Software Design Engineer to develop software solutions for offshore wind turbine foundations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural engineering and programming skills in Matlab and Python. This permanent role, based in the UK, offers a chance for technical growth and development in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering degree required.
• Experience in offshore wind engineering mandatory.
• Proficient in programming with Matlab and Python.
• Experience in structural engineering necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of software tools for offshore wind turbine foundations.
• Create code for design tools involving stress, FE, and load modeling.
• Collaborate with offshore structural engineers for guidance.
• Develop code for foundations design including jackets, monopiles and steel towers.

Lead Programmer for software tools for Leading Renewable Engineering Company

NB: please note it is essential to have offshore wind, software coding & structural engineering experience. (Matlab &/ Python)

The Company

Specialist engineers to the renewable energy sector – offshore wind, tidal, wave, marine. A fast growing, innovative and exciting renewable company to work for, that offer excellent chances for technical and personal development

The Role

• Lead programmer for new software tool for offshore wind.
• You will be leading development of offshore wind turbine foundations concept design tool.
• You will enjoy the challenge of creating code, and have experience with codes such as Matlab, Python or similar.
• Foundations & steel design for offshore wind turbines - stress, FE, loads modelling and complete design of large offshore foundations e.g. Jackets, Monopiles and steel towers.
• Supported by experienced offshore structural engineers, who will help shape the direction of the development with you and will be able to provide specific offshore wind guidance if required.

Essential Experience

• Mechanical / Structural / Civil Engineering degree
• Offshore Wind engineering experience
• Experienced programmer using Matlab &/ Python
• Structural engineering.

Desirable Experience

• DNV’s SESAM-GENIE.
• Dynamics of offshore wind turbine foundation (Jackets / Monopiles/ Floating)
• Steel Structures e.g. Steel towers.
• Geotechnical
