Responsibilities

• Execute structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
• Review technical documentation and analyses produced by others.
• Prepare and review all technical documentation related to Structural Design activities.
• Prepare sketch drawings and concept and feasibility studies.
• Liaise with other disciplines during project execution for the execution of the assigned tasks.
• Prepare and review all technical documentation related to Structural Design activities during Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation, detailed engineering, and Operations.
• Review Bidder Call for Tender & Selection for structural aspects where applicable.
• Review and approve FEED, Tender and Detailed Engineering performed by Contractors for structural aspects.

Senior Engineer, Offshore Structures

Initial 12 Month Contract

A Senior Offshore Structures Engineer is required to work for a global Oil & Gas company on a long term contract basis that will offer the flexibility to work remotely and work outside IR35.

As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will provide strong experience of jackets, topsides and substructures as well as providing experience relating to offshore installation projects.

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities

• Execute structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will study and define the best technical solutions for offshore structures (both substructures and topsides) during various design stages (feasibility, FEED, detail design).
• Review technical documentation and analyses produced by others.
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will prepare sketch drawings and concept and feasibility studies.
• Liaise with other disciplines during project execution for the execution of the assigned tasks.
• To prepare and review all technical documentation related to Structural Design activities during the different phases of the Project, such as Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation, detailed engineering, and Operations.
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will review Bidder Call for Tender & Selection (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.) when applicable for structural aspects.
• To review and approve FEED, Tender and Detailed Engineering performed by Contractors as applicable for structural aspects.

Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the role Expected Duration

• Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline such as Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering (with focus on structures).
• Demonstrable experience in design of structures in all project phases (feasibility study, FEED, detailed engineering, and Operations)
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will be proficient usage of the following software: DNVGL SESAM Suite, USFOS, ANSYS, SACS, STAAD.
• Able to collaborate effectively with other disciplines as required to perform assigned tasks due to multidisciplinary approach to Projects.
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will be able to handle highly complex and diverse tasks while applying a high level of independent judgment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and excellent engineering judgement.
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will have awareness of structural design standards and correct application of Company HSEQ policies.
• Awareness of marine operations and naval interfaces with structural design.
• Strong experience in analyses and design of offshore structures, in accordance to ISO1900 series, API RP2A, AISC, DNV codes.
• Ability to create and verify FEM models of fixed offshore structures, e.g. jacket and topside, for in-place and temporary conditions.
• Experience in the definition and design of foundation systems, including but not limited to foundation piles and mud mats.
• Experience in re-design and assessment of brownfield structures, life extension, reliability analyses, with a strong attitude towards problem solving and capacity to make critical choices.
• Experience in design for nonlinear analyses, blast, dropped objects, impact, redundancy, pushover analyses.
• Being familiar with offshore structural materials, fabrication, and installation aspects.
• As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will have experience with floaters design.
• Experience in definition of tender documentation for offshore structures.
• Capacity to analyse and make independent recommendations for the solution to problems with varying complexity.
• Ability to suggest innovative solutions.
