Job summary

Kane Group in Banbridge is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Offsite Design team. You will lead design activities, review calculations and mentor engineers and technicians to build technical capability.

The role focuses on UK and European standards, MasterSeries PowerPad, and developing internal templates and procedures. Chartered status or progress toward chartership is preferred, with excellent collaboration across project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEng MIStructE or MICE) or working towards chartership.
• Extensive experience in structural design and analysis in UK/European construction.
• Experience using MasterSeries PowerPad or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural design expertise and technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Review, validate and develop structural calculations and design solutions.
• Support and mentor engineers and technicians to build technical competence.
• Guide the design team in MasterSeries PowerPad and design best practice.
• Develop internal calculation templates, procedures and standards.
• Act as technical adviser on complex structural matters.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and site teams to ensure buildable designs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the design function.

We are seeking an Structural Engineer based in Banbridge to join our growing Offsite Design team.

The successful candidate will provide structural engineering expertise across a range of projects, with a particular focus on structural calculations and design verification. They will also support and mentor the in-house design team, help develop internal standards and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges.

| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |

• Provide structural design expertise and technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Review, validate and develop structural calculations and design solutions.
• Support and mentor engineers and technicians to build technical competence within the team.
• Guide the design team in the use of MasterSeries PowerPad and structural design best practice.
• Assist with the development of internal calculation templates, design procedures and technical standards.
• Act as a trusted technical adviser on complex structural engineering matters.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and site teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and buildable.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the design function.

• Proven experience developing, reviewing and validating structural calculations and design solutions.
• Strong knowledge of UK and European structural design standards, regulations and engineering best practice.
• Experience providing technical guidance on complex structural engineering matters.
• Experience working collaboratively with project managers, architects, engineers, technicians and site teams.
• Experience supporting or mentoring engineers and technicians and contributing to internal design standards and procedures.
• Previous experience in a technical leadership or mentoring role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance on complex engineering challenges.
• Confident using structural design software, including MasterSeries PowerPad or similar systems.
