Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Structural Design Engineer in Hove to join a well-established consultancy. You will contribute to design, calculations, reports and site inspections across varied residential and commercial projects, with mentoring from senior engineers and clear progression opportunities.

Salary £32,000 - £38,000 plus permanent, full-time employment and exposure to both design and site-based engineering in a growing practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
• Approximately 2 years' post-graduate experience in a structural engineering consultancy.
• Experience designing building structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Good understanding of structural calculations, load assessments and UK design standards.
• Experience producing technical drawings, specifications and engineering reports.
• Proficiency in CAD and relevant structural engineering design software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with architects, contractors and other professionals.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle advantageous due to site visits.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural design and calculations for diverse projects.
• Prepare technical reports and drawings for submission.
• Inspect sites to monitor construction progress and compliance.
• Liaise with senior/associate engineers and other professionals.
• Contribute to project proposals and technical discussions.
