Job summary

The Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking a dietitian to cover the stroke unit at NGH. You will assess patients referred by the stroke team in inpatient wards and outpatient settings, planning treatment and discharge plans that include ACBS-prescribable enteral feeds and supplements.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care, evaluate progress, contribute to service improvement, and train dietetic learners while managing clinical risk and ensuring

Qualifications

• Wide range of clinical dietetic experience, especially managing malnutrition in inpatients.
• Knowledge of UK healthcare systems.
• Good communication skills and patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with complex conditions referred by the stroke team.
• Plan management and discharge plans including ACBS-prescribable enteral feeds and supplements.
• Work with the MDT to deliver coordinated care and attend case conferences.
• Evaluate patient progress and contribute to service improvements and risk management.
• Communicate with patients to deliver treatment respectfully and inclusively.
• Advise and train patients, carers, and colleagues in dietetic care.
• Organise workload and manage clinical risk within caseload.
• Support dietetic learners and provide practice education.
