Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Gloucester is seeking an experienced MET Technician to join our modern bodyshop. You will handle mechanical, electrical and trim work on accident-damaged vehicles, collaborating with panel and paint teams to maintain quality and safety standards.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 08:30–17:00 schedule, a salary up to £45,000 depending on experience, and a commitment to ongoing training and long-term career development in a busy, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Proven MET Technician experience within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and trim knowledge.
• Experience stripping and refitting modern vehicles following accident damage.
• Good understanding of vehicle construction, repair methods and manufacturer procedures.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safe, high-quality repairs.
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy production environment.
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Strip and refit vehicle components accurately and efficiently.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults associated with accident repairs.
• Complete pre-repair and post-repair checks to ensure vehicles are safe and correctly assembled.
• Work closely with Panel Technicians and other bodyshop departments to maintain efficient vehicle throughput.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, technical procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
• Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate these to the relevant team members.
• Complete repairs within agreed production times while maintaining excellent technical standards and attention to detail.

THE ROLE

As an Experienced MET Technician, you will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical, trim and associated technical aspects of vehicle accident repairs.
