Job Description:

Position: Static Stress Engineer - (Approver & Non-Approver Roles)

Location: Bristol

Pay Rate: £52.57 per hour (Inside IR35) for Approver

Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour (Inside IR35) for non-approver

Work Pattern: Hybrid

iO Associates is currently recruiting a Static Stress Engineer to join our client's team at the Broughton site. This is an opportunity to work with a world-leading aerospace company, contributing to projects in commercial and military aviation, rotorcraft, defence, and space sectors. You will be involved in high-impact projects within an innovative environment that pushes aerospace technology boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Compile data for trade studies, impact assessments, and RF mitigations.
  2. Conduct static stress analysis on fixed-wing structures using internal tools.
  3. Prepare and, if authorised, approve certification dossiers (composite & metallic).
  4. Collaborate with wing teams and report progress to the Delivery Team Leader.
  5. Report to the Senior/Lead Stress Engineer on the work package.
Skills:
  1. Demonstrated experience in the aerospace sector.
  2. Previous involvement in similar projects or environments.
  3. Strong hands-on background in airframe certification analysis and in-service support.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to deliver tasks within agreed timelines and provide progress updates.
  6. Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  7. Delegated signatory status.
  8. Proficiency in Nastran, Hyperworks, Python scripting, and ISAMI.
  9. Familiarity with wing structure design and analysis.
