Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Street Scene Operative - Level 2 (Grade 5) on a permanent, full-time basis to join our Street Scene service. The role carries out grounds maintenance and street cleansing across the Dudley Borough, including hedge and vegetation maintenance, grass cutting, weed and moss removal, and related duties.

Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and be able to work as part of a team with flexible duties and locations to support service delivery.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Street Scene Operative - Level 2 (Grade 5) to join our Street Scene service on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a forward-thinking, dedicated team committed to delivering top-quality, customer-focused street cleansing and grounds maintenance services in a modern, efficient, and effective way. Our Street Scene service now brings both functions together to provide a seamless approach to maintaining the borough. This important position forms part of our front-line workforce, carrying out a range of grounds maintenance operations across the Dudley Borough. Applicants must hold a driving licence.

• A variety of street cleansing and grounds maintenance tasks, such as hedge & vegetation maintenance, grass cutting operations, weed & moss removal, driving duties.
• Maintaining our Housing sites, grass highways and verges and supplying direction and support to the team.
• Other duties may include: Litter picking and bin emptying, manual sweeping & fly-tipping removal.

The role will primarily focus on grounds maintenance within the Dudley North area. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong team working qualities, with the ability to undertake efficient daily operations and provide support to team members. Flexibility is essential, as duties and locations may vary depending on service needs.
