Job summary

Leicester City Council is recruiting for full-time Parking Enforcement Officers to patrol streets, issue Penalty Charge Notices, and ensure pay-and-display machines and road markings are functioning properly across the city. The role requires a full driving licence and the ability to work across Leicester in all weathers.

You may be asked to drive a van and assist with towing, and will operate on a 37-hour week with some evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Experience working with the public in challenging situations.
• Good literacy and numeracy with basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol streets and issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles not complying with parking regulations.
• Maintain pay and display machines, and keep signs and road markings in good order.
• Patrol during match day parking and check temporary restrictions are in place.
• May drive a van and assist with towing of vehicles as required.
