Job summary

VolkerWessels UK in Bridgwater is seeking a Supervisory electrical/maintenance lead to oversee lighting installation and maintenance across the South West. You will coordinate directly employed teams and subcontract labour, drive safe delivery, programme works, and manage costs to meet contract targets.

The role requires around five years of electrical/site experience, strong planning and digital reporting skills, and good English communication. On-site work with a competitive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience is required.
• Good understanding of cost, value and basic commercial principles.
• Knowledge of programming and planning processes is important for coordinating works efficiently.
• Strong computer literacy to operate digital systems and reporting tools.
• Sufficient electrical and technical knowledge for overseeing installation and maintenance.
• Understanding of Highway Sector Scheme and HEA requirements is beneficial.
• Effective management techniques to support team performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe operational delivery across sites with risk assessments and procedures.
• Coordinate client and contractor activities using Confirm system.
• Apply cost management and QS reporting to control variations and costs.
• Plan and programme works with clients and onsite teams.
• Manage subcontractors and temporary staff to meet quality and productivity standards.
• Conduct monthly H&S and environmental inspections and toolbox talks.
• Oversee use of plant, transport and materials and ensure compliance registers.
• Maintain accurate records of works, delays and extra activities for commercial processes.
• Support staff development and growth of the contract.
