Job summary

VolkerHighways, part of VolkerWessels UK, has a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Street Lighting Electrical Operative in Wokingham, Berkshire. You will support electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations on our street lighting contracts.

The role requires previous street lighting installation experience, safe isolation knowledge (G39), and certifications such as SWQR, MEWP, and H&S tests.

Qualifications

• Ideally 3 years Street Lighting Installations experience
• Must demonstrate good awareness of site and company rules
• Safe Isolation / G39
• SWQR Qualification
• MEWP Operator
• ECS H&S Test
• First Aid
• Manual Handling
• Preferable registration to Highways Electrical Level 3 NVQ
• CPC Hours / DQC Card - LGV Licence

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment
• 24-hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby
• Assisting with the installation of any new build works
• Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner, within the scope if relevant duties
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing
• Fault diagnosis and repair
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard, with vehicle defect sheet completed correctly
